We are looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to develop a unified vision for hardware characteristics and functions for cyber physical system development. You will be able to see the “big picture”, make timely good quality decisions, create architectural approaches for hardware design/implementation and to guide the internal and external hardware engineering teams.
Responsibilities
· Overseeing hardware architecture design and related decision making throughout our product portfolio
· Technology landscaping and selections
· Overseeing and managing hardware suppliers
· Collaborate with internal and external professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for hardware architecture
· Use tools, processes and methods to create representations for hardware architecture of developed product
· Develop high-level architecture specifications with attention to overall system integration
· Select commercially off the self (COTS) components for our product as well as lead company specific hardware development
· Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to internal and external development teams
· Overseeing progress of hardware engineering teams to ensure consistency with design intent
· Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers
· Ensuring that hardware meets all requirements including functionality quality, security, modularity, redundancy etc.
· Approving technical designs and drawings prepared by internal and external teams
· Preparing the hardware evaluation, integration and implementation concepts
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience
· Proven experience as Hardware Architect
· Broad knowledge of the hardware and system development process and its technologies
· Understanding of the system context, system functions and interfaces
· Understanding of the hardware quality assurance principles
· Knowledge of the available relevant standard hardware and technologies
· Capability to interpret the applicable EMC, environmental and reliability requirements
· Preferable knowledge of marine specific requirements (Class Societies, IEC etc.)
· Experience on working in multicultural, multivendor environments
· Experience in developing technologies/products for marine industry is preferred
· Good verbal and written English communication skills
